pothos

Araceae family

Epipremnum is a genus consisting of flowering evergreen vines that climb with the help of their Ariel roots. Native to tropical forests in China, the base of the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, Australia and the western pacific islands, pothos can grow up to 151 feet in the wild. A novice plant owners dream, the Pothos is commonly called ‘Devil’s Ivy’ as it is nearly impossible to kill as it adapts to low light and even the occasional forgetful watering. Epipremnum love to climb and would benefit from a trellis or being placed from a high space like a shelf or bookshelf. pet owners take caution as these plants are toxic if ingested.

Location: Pothos enjoy sun or shade and can grow in low-light areas / florescent lighting. However, too much shade can cause the variegated pothos to lose their leaf pattern.

Soil: This plant is happy with a run of the mill, well-draining potting soil. They also can be happy in a coarse, chunky medium.

Watering: Pothos love to tell you when they need water, watch for drooping leaves. Water once every 1-2 weeks and less during the winter months. let soil dry out between watering as roots are prone to rot if left too wet.
